Taking risks is an essential part of life

Taking risks is an essential part of life

Walking on the timeline of yours or ours, if you like, you have to face some difficulties. Not everything is addordable or reached without sweating, spending some time and thinking about how you will manage to cope with something. It is said that all that glitters is not heavy, yellow, precious metal excavationed in the mines.

Is it really possible to walk through life unlimited, free, without a great effort and painlessly? Do we have a choice? Let me try to elaborate. Firstly, nowadays everybody knows the film Matrix. There is a scene where Morpheus offers two pills to Neo as a choice between illusion and reality. At first Neo was in doubt but his will to find out what is real, what is reality overruled. He took a risk and his life changed a lot. But if he had not done so, he would have still lived his miserable and pathetic life. He learned, he found out something new that he would not have if he had not taken the risky path of a life.

However, it is still possible to wander through life riskless by thinking twice before leaping or being careful all the time. Despite that there may occur some scenes where you will not be able to walk that line. It seems like we have absolutely no choice whether we take one way or another. And yet, it is possible it may not reveal to us as a way, afterall.

But let us say it does and let us take a look at an example. In today's world nearly everybody owns a car. And every time you sit in it, ready to drive out on the road, do you not think of it as a risky act? Of course, it is risky, due to not knowing what will happen to you the next moment. You could always wake up, when you start realizing yourself again, in the ICU.

Actually we are taking risks almost every day, it is just that we do not realize that. But on the other hand, what do we gain by taking risks? Is it really necessary for us to do so? Of course, there are people, called The Extremists, who prefer taking a hard and risky way, but that is not what I am aiming at. Unfortunately, I cannot think of anything else, gained by it, save learning something new, widening one's horizons. In my opinion everybody took some risks once, even if they, at the time being, claim they have everything and are not in need of walking on the edge. The best stock brokers, managers, producers, company owners had to do so in order to gain profit. They all took a risk when investing loads of money into something that can be easily lost.

All in all, we ought to take risks in our life-time in order to achieve something we want so desperately, especially if this is our long term will. And as long as I am called the quotation-guy, let me conclude with a quote that life is like a box of chocolates – you never know what you gonna get.
